Double page spread draft

This my my double page spread draft, as you can see it closely relates to my draft pretty similarly, I encountered a problem whilst editing the pictures forcing me to flip the template around so the image is on the right and the introduction paragraphs are on the left. Also i will have to change: the placebo effect title to a more suited style, i will remove the charts top 5 and last of all i will put more detailed questions into the interview. Another improvement will be changing the content of the interview into something more dramatic and interesting instead of just a plain old conversation.

Template for double page spread (research and development)

This is my template for my double page spread, i feel if i can make all the images and writing link together with the use of colour and font styles then it will be very eye catchy and extremely effective.

research into similar products - magazine inspiration

This is a good example of the double page spread that i intend to recreate, I really like the layout as the picture overlaps both pages but it does not interfere with the writing, This doesn't follow the type of music genre i want my magazine to represent  but i feel it has a natural flow to it and makes it look very effective, I really like the way the back ground of the picture plays on the whole page and the main model has his own clear space.

Research into magazine features - Potential target audience

This is my questionnaire that i intend to give to a research group so i can achieve a better understanding of what sort of features should be put into my magazine.

Research and planning - Magazine articles

NME has a lot of great ideas for magazine features as they consistently entice the audience week in and week out into buying there magazine, some of which are: Interviews with certain key members of a band which has a very high status for example Noel Gallagher from Oasis. Another Key feature is the use of attractive features such as a GIG guide, this makes the viewer keen to find out what is actually thus attracting them to buy the magazine.
This NME magazine also has: Gutters, Letters, Vocals, Crosswords, information on NME TV and even A PUG to attract the audience to spending even more money.

The Magazine image shown on the right shows a key idea which offers a place where people can go to show there interest even further about there love for the for the magazine, I really like the use of having an App which can be visited from the comfort of your own home as it shows that they have taken in what the audience cares about. This magazine would not be an effective front cover and the Total guitar magazine does not 100% fit into the genre of music my magazine i want to represent, but this would make a really effective hand out slide that comes with the magazine or even by editing the picture so it is just the phone describing the App and placing it on a original front cover would be very effective.

Preliminary Front cover

This is my preliminary front cover, I could improve this front cover in various ways: One of which is putting the Masthead behind the main subject, This would make the main model stand out allowing a clearer image of the model and enticing the audience. Also i could improve this magazine by placing a title on the magazine instead of just the name, a title can attract the customer into wanting to buy the magazine as it can be catchy and people want to find out more.
